mecha model kits

Hey! Here's something different. These are some shots of a few of my mechas, the 1/100 alteisen, the 1/72 CRONUS, ATLAS, and FASCINATOR from armored core, and a HG zaku sniper type from gundam. For those who don't know, these are plastic model kits you have to assemble and then detail and paint if you want. These are all painted and I've also added some weathering. CORTO MALTESE

So, here's a picture of a corto maltese I did a few years ago for a teacher of mine. It's great to see that it's still holding up, as these sculptures are obviously very fragile. Thanks to Jaime Anibal for the picture!

ROLAND DESCHAIN OF GILEAD

As promised, here are some some pictures of the roland character from the dark tower books by steven king. I'ts looking really special with all the eavy drybush I've applied to simulate sun wethered skin. I'm not done with the chest, though. What do you think?

MORE WORK IN PROGESS

First of all my apologies for last post, but for some stupid reason I couldn't turn them around. I'm doing this on a PS3, so that's probably why. Anyway, here's a dragon from the game Panzer Dragoon Saga and a couple of characters from street fighter. I've also started working on my interpretation of Roland Deschain from the dark tower books from steven king and I think that will be really special. I'll post some shots of that later. So, if you got any questions or sugestions, just leave a comment...

TYRANT WORK IN PROGESS

Hey there ! Here are some shots of a tyrant figure from resident evil I've been sculpting for almost a year (!) now. It's really massive and easily the biggest thing I've ever made! It measures about 70cm (28 inches). Has you can see I just use plain plasticine ( I only use JOVI brand). I start with a rough sketch and then add details starting from the head down. When I got a detail just right I paint it over with wood glue (PVC glue), and that's really the trick. the glue seals the details and acts as a basecoat for painting. You have to water it down a bit and add just a tiny pinch of liquid hand washing soap. thats really important because the plasticine is kinda greasy and the surface tension from the water will oderwise prevent the glue from sticking. So, what do you think? Can't wait to get it painted. It'll end up like the one on my last post, wich is about the size of a regular action figure...

FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!

Finally!!! I finally got around to set up this blog! This is my first atempt at something like this so bear with me... So I'll be trying to show some of my work with this. What I do is I take some plain plasticine, sculpt away and end up with what you'll hopefully see. I won't bore you to death with how I do it right now, I think I'll just explain as I show more work in progress... I'll be happy to clear any doubts you may have though... anyway, we'll see how it goes. On a side note I would like to thank the twisted creatures who dwell in ghoulgear and everybody else who supports my work. You know who you are.
